Background
Endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS), along with inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), catalyze nitric oxide and L-citrulline generation from L-arginine and molecular oxygen. eNOS is activated at calcium concentrations over 100 nM.
