Background

The protein CDKN2C encoded by this gene is a member of the INK4 family of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors. This protein has been shown to interact with CDK4 or CDK6, and prevent the activation of the CDK kinases, thus function as a cell growth regulator that controls cell cycle G1 progression. Ectopic expression of this gene was shown to suppress the growth of human cells in a manner that appears to correlate with the presence of a wild-type RB1 function. Studies in the knockout mice suggested the roles of this gene in regulating spermatogenesis, as well as in suppressing tumorigenesis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene, which encode an identical protein, have been reported.

Images

CDKN2C antibodyWestern blotting analysis using anti-CDKN2C antibody (Cat#61139). Total cell lysates (30 μg) from various cell lines were loaded and separated by SDS-PAGE. The blot was incubated with anti-CDKN2C antibody (Cat#61139, 1:5,000) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat#201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using NaQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat#716).
Western blotting analysis using anti-CDKN2C antibody (Cat#61139). CDKN2C expression in wild type (WT) and CDKN2C shRNA knockdown (KD) HeLa cells with 20 μg of total cell lysates. β-Tubulin serves as a loading control. The blot was incubated with anti-CDKN2C antibody (Cat#61139, 1:5,000) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat#201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using NaQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat#716).
Flow cytometric analysis of CDKN2C expression in HeLa cells using CDKN2C antibody (Cat#61139, 1:2,000). Green, isotype control; red, CDKN2C.
Immunocytochemical staining of Hela cells with anti-CDKN2C antibody (Cat#61139, 1:1,000). Nuclei were stained blue with DAPI; CDKN2C was stained magenta with Alexa Fluor® 647. Images were taken using Leica stellaris 5. Protein abundance based on laser Intensity and smart gain: Medium. Scale bar: 20 μm.
