Background

This gene encodes a protein that binds to the stem-loop structure in replication-dependent histone mRNAs. Histone mRNAs do not contain introns or polyadenylation signals, and are processed by endonucleolytic cleavage. The stem-loop structure is essential for efficient processing but this structure also controls the transport, translation and stability of histone mRNAs. Expression of the protein is regulated during the cell cycle, increasing more than 10-fold during the latter part of G1.

SLBP antibodyWestern blotting analysis using anti-SLBP antibody (Cat#65605). Total cell lysates (30 μg) from various cell lines were loaded and separated by SDS-PAGE. The blot was incubated with anti-SLBP antibody (Cat#65605, 1:5,000) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat#201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using FeQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat#226).
Western blotting analysis using anti-SLBP antibody (Cat#65605). SLBP expression in wild-type (WT) and SLBP shRNA knockdown (KD) HT-1080 cells with 30 μg of total cell lysates. Hsp90 α serves as a loading control. The blot was incubated with anti-SLBP antibody (Cat#65605, 1:5,000) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat#201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using NaQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat#716).
