Background

The protein EGFRencoded by the gene EGFR is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor, thus inducing receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation leading to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. EGFR is a component of the cytokine storm which contributes to a severe form of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) resulting from infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2).

EGFR antibodyWestern blotting analysis using anti-Epidermal growth factor receptor antibody (Cat#62827). Total cell lysates (30 μg) from various cell lines were loaded and separated by SDS-PAGE. The blot was incubated with anti-Epidermal growth factor receptor antibody (Cat#62827, 1:5,000) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat#201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using FeQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat#226).
Western blotting analysis using anti-Epidermal growth factor receptor antibody (Cat#62827). Epidermal growth factor receptor expression in wild type (WT) and Epidermal growth factor receptor shRNA knockdown (KD) HeLa cells with 10 μg of total cell lysates. Hsp90 α serves as a loading control. The blot was incubated with anti-Epidermal growth factor receptor antibody (Cat#62827, 1:5,000) and HRP-conjugated goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody (Cat#201, 1:20,000) respectively. Image was developed using NaQ™ ECL Substrate Kit (Cat#716).
